Rebecca McLynn
Current Collection
Landscape, detail in nature and the quality and atmosphere of the elements inform McLynn’s oil paintings on canvas, mixed media works, photographs and works on paper |
McLynn's subjects are the west coast of Ireland, far north-west of Scotland and the Atlantic islands of the Hebrides. Also Arctic Norway and California’s Big Sur. She is drawn to particular types of landscape – raw, wild, desolate, and lush enchanted places rich in damp moss, foliage and colour. |
McLynn captures the essence of a place, using a hint of figuration to draw the view while the composition allows the viewer to contemplate their own reminiscences of place and time.
